After undergoing a year long remodel and additiion, the homeowner was ready for the backyard to also be put back together.  Having an extensiive knowledge of plant material themselves, working with the owners, was an added pleasure as one of the criteria of the design was to blend areas into the garden for the long list of beautiful airloom plants, and pass alongs from friends and neighbors right alongside a mixture of new perennials, shrubs, and grasses for a very unique setting.

Also in the design of the house was a stone veneered wall that created a fantastic location for a water feature that can be heard inside the house bringing the nature right in.  The materials selected and used helped to create various rooms around the backyard with an extension of the patio, and a 'Coral Bark' maple for winter color off the back windows during the dormant months, reusing the old iron post from the front porch to create an arbor into the vegetable garden, or the intimate setting of the firepit area between two mature dogwoods for smores with the kids during crisp fall nights, it ensures that both house, and garden are one.

The homeowner told me that once the landscape was installed, she finally felt like she was home.
